Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School organized an event titled "New Generation Governance Approach" on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, within the scope of the "Jobs Belongs to Knower of It: Entrepreneurship Models" webinar series. IT Governance founder Cantekin Ertekin, who participated as a speaker at the event moderated by Lecturer A. Berrak Köten, Lecturer Dr. Barış Safran and Lecturer Burak Öçlü, talked about important issues about the concept of corporate governance and current developments in the field.
Starting his career as an Internal Auditor at important brands such as Koçtaş and Hyundai, Ertekin defined internal audit as determining the difference between the goals they want to achieve and the current situation, analyzing, auditing, providing assurance and consultancy. Continuing his career in the IT-Senior Governance position at NN Group, Ertekin emphasized that the new normal is remote work. Finally, Ertekin, who completed the project he worked as a consultant at Sabancı DX, which is also active in the field of IT, and became the Founder of IT Governance, also drew attention to the importance of the events that serve as a bridge between the industry and the academy.
Stating that they set out for IT Governance about a year ago with the philosophy of "learn, develop, share", Ertekin defined themselves as a non-profit community that analyzes and shares IT-oriented technological developments and aims to learn from each other. Summarizing his goals and activities as translation and sharing of various foreign resources, webinars with experts in their fields, presenting pieces of information, and continuous improvement with the philosophy of lifelong learning, Ertekin shared interesting statistics on the relationships and developments between COVID, technology, digitalization, Generation Z, governance concepts. Throughout the webinar, Ertekin, who sought answers to questions such as how the understanding of governance has changed with the advantages and disadvantages brought by technology and digitalization, what kind of governance model has developed with its integration into business life, also touched on the effects of the pandemic process on digitalization.
