Program Objectives
The Program of Construction Technology aims to educate qualified technical professionals who possess fundamental engineering knowledge, understand construction and building production processes, have strong project interpretation and implementation skills, and are able to work in accordance with professional ethics as well as occupational health and safety regulations.
The program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required in areas such as construction materials, construction technologies, reinforced concrete and steel structures, infrastructure systems, surveying techniques, computer-aided drafting, and project implementation.
The program also aims to prepare graduates for careers as construction technicians in both the public and private sectors, while encouraging them to pursue lifelong learning, keep pace with technological developments, and continue their academic education through transfer opportunities to related undergraduate programs.
In addition, the program seeks to develop graduates who embrace sustainability, quality management, environmental awareness, and professional responsibility, while demonstrating strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Program Educational Objectives
EA1. Our graduates develop a high level of professional competence by combining theoretical knowledge acquired in core areas of construction, such as structural analysis, materials science, and reinforced concrete design, with practical experience gained through laboratory and construction site applications.
EA2. Our graduates adapt quickly to emerging technologies within the industry and contribute effectively to project processes through the professional use of computer-aided design (CAD) software and contemporary digital measurement technologies.
EA3. Our graduates perform their professional duties as responsible practitioners who prioritize public safety while adhering to building inspection regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and professional ethical principles.
EA4. Through flipped classroom and project-based learning models, our graduates develop analytical thinking skills that enable them to solve technical problems collaboratively and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
EA5. Our graduates pursue their careers as lifelong learners who closely follow innovative construction technologies and continuously improve themselves in response to evolving industry dynamics.
Educational Process
The curriculum of the Program of Construction Technology has been designed to provide students with the technical knowledge and practical skills required by the construction industry. The program aims to develop competence in areas such as building design, construction materials, reinforced concrete and steel structures, geotechnics, transportation systems, hydraulics, surveying, and computer-aided technical drawing.
In addition to specialized courses, the curriculum includes mathematics, fundamental engineering sciences, occupational health and safety, quality management, and elective courses.
Throughout their studies, students learn the processes involved in preparing, interpreting, and implementing construction projects. They also develop technical projects using computer-aided drafting and modeling software. Through laboratory work, technical site visits, seminars, and hands-on courses, students have the opportunity to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practical field experience. Furthermore, they gain up-to-date knowledge of construction materials, quality control procedures, and modern construction technologies.
Internship and workplace training components provide students with practical experience in various areas of the construction sector and help prepare them for professional life. These experiences allow students to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world projects while working alongside industry professionals.
Upon completion of the two-year program, graduates possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work as construction technicians in both public institutions and private-sector organizations. Guided by a commitment to lifelong learning, graduates continue to develop professionally, follow technological advancements within the industry, and may pursue further education through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) by enrolling in related undergraduate programs.
As a result, students enter professional life as qualified technical personnel with strong practical skills and the ability to adapt to changing industry conditions.
Internship
Workplace training and internship experiences are compulsory components of the Program of Construction Technology and are designed to enhance students’ professional knowledge and practical skills.
Throughout their studies, students are required to complete a total of 40 working days of workplace training, enabling them to observe construction industry practices firsthand and gain valuable professional experience.
The Program of Construction Technology within the Vocational School of Istanbul Kültür University aims to educate qualified technical personnel capable of meeting the demands of the rapidly evolving construction and building industry.
The program provides students with the knowledge and practical skills required in areas such as building production processes, project implementation, construction materials, reinforced concrete and steel structures, surveying, infrastructure systems, and computer-aided technical drawing. Graduates are prepared for careers as technical personnel, site technicians, building inspection technicians, project technicians, and technical office staff across various sectors of the construction industry.
Istanbul Kültür University was established in July 1997 as a foundation university with public legal entity status. The Program of Construction Technology, offered within the Vocational School, prepares students for professional life through its continuously updated curriculum, practice-oriented educational approach, and experienced academic staff.
Throughout their studies, students have opportunities to reinforce theoretical knowledge through laboratory work, technical visits, industry seminars, practical courses, and workplace training. In addition, successful students may benefit from Erasmus+ Study Mobility and Erasmus+ Traineeship Mobility opportunities through the University's Erasmus Office.
Graduates may pursue careers in construction companies, building inspection organizations, project and consultancy firms, municipalities, public institutions, construction material manufacturing and sales companies, as well as infrastructure and superstructure projects. They may also continue their education through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) by enrolling in related undergraduate programs.

The primary objective of our program is to graduate individuals who possess a strong understanding of construction processes, are proficient in reading and implementing technical projects, can effectively utilize computer-aided design and modeling software, adhere to occupational health and safety regulations, uphold professional ethical standards, and work efficiently as part of a team. Beyond mastering current practices, our students are encouraged to follow scientific and technological developments in the construction industry and develop the ability to adapt to changing professional environments.
In line with our student-centered educational philosophy, our program integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Through laboratory studies, technical site visits, industry collaborations, workplace training, and hands-on courses, students are provided with opportunities to gain valuable professional experience throughout their education. Graduates may be involved in activities such as monitoring construction site operations, interpreting and implementing construction projects, preparing quantity surveys and cost estimates, conducting quality control procedures, inspecting construction materials, preparing technical reports, producing computer-aided technical drawings, and supporting project coordination processes.
In addition, graduates may continue their education through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) by enrolling in related undergraduate programs, including Civil Engineering, Architecture, and other relevant fields.

The Program of Construction Technology at Istanbul Kültür University is committed to continuously improving the quality of its educational activities, adapting to technological developments within the construction industry, and educating the qualified workforce required by the sector. In line with these objectives, quality assurance processes are carried out systematically, guided by a philosophy of continuous improvement.
The program’s educational objectives, program outcomes, course learning outcomes, and curriculum are regularly reviewed in accordance with feedback from internal and external stakeholders, student evaluations, graduate and employer feedback, industry expectations, and national qualification frameworks. The data collected through these processes are evaluated by the Program Quality Commission and the Program Board, and necessary improvement actions are planned and implemented accordingly.
As part of its quality assurance framework, the program regularly monitors student satisfaction, course achievement levels, internship and workplace training outcomes, graduate tracking studies, and employer feedback. The information gathered is used to improve educational processes, update course content, and strengthen the program’s alignment with industry needs. Continuous improvement activities are conducted in accordance with the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) cycle.
The Program of Construction Technology closely follows accreditation processes conducted by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Vocational Education (MEDEK) in order to ensure quality standards in vocational education, foster a sustainable culture of quality, and enhance the competitiveness of its graduates. Accreditation efforts are carried out as an integral part of the program’s quality assurance system.
