Logistics encompasses the planning, implementation, and control of the flow of goods and services from the point of origin to the point of consumption, in accordance with consumer needs. The field of logistics is an integrated professional domain that includes information management, transportation, inventory management, warehousing, handling, packaging, and related processes, covering both national and international transportation activities.
The Logistics Program at Istanbul Kültür University aims to provide students with knowledge related to logistics, foreign trade, transportation, customs, and other business disciplines, as well as fundamental sector-specific competencies required by service provider companies operating in the logistics industry.
Our program is delivered through a student-centered educational approach that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application and takes into account the current needs of the logistics sector.
Program Objectives
The educational objectives of the Logistics Program are to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required by the logistics industry, to enable graduates to take active roles in logistics organizations, to support their continuous professional development through a lifelong learning perspective, and to provide a foundation for further undergraduate studies.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Within a few years after graduation, graduates of the program are expected to:
PEO1. Effectively perform transportation, warehousing, inventory management, order management, and customer service activities within logistics enterprises and supply chain processes in an accurate and efficient manner.
PEO2. Contribute to the efficiency of logistics and supply chain operations by using logistics information systems, digital technologies, and data analysis tools.
PEO3. Act as responsible professionals who are aware of and compliant with professional ethics, legal regulations, occupational health and safety, and sustainability principles.
PEO4. Demonstrate effective communication skills, teamwork ability, a customer-oriented service approach, and the capacity to collaborate with various stakeholders.
PEO5. Engage in continuous professional development, adapt to evolving logistics practices and technologies, think innovatively, and maintain a lifelong learning mindset.
Education Process
The duration of the program is two years. Throughout the education process, students receive training in areas such as logistics terminology, logistics management, supply chain management, transportation systems, warehousing and inventory management, logistics legislation, distribution channels and planning, customs regulations, freight and insurance, logistics information systems, entrepreneurship, and marketing.
In the first two semesters, courses are designed to develop students’ fundamental professional knowledge and skills. In the third and fourth semesters, professional courses supporting field specialization become more prominent. Within the scope of the program, students carry out applied studies related to transportation systems, warehousing and inventory management, distribution channels and planning, logistics information systems, logistics legislation, and supply chain processes.
The curriculum is continuously updated in line with current developments in the logistics sector and stakeholder feedback. It aims to ensure that students integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experience and acquire the competencies required by the industry.
Applied Training and Internship
Within the program, students gain professional experience through compulsory internship placements in logistics companies, warehousing centers, transportation firms, logistics service providers, and organizations operating in supply chain management.
During the internship process, students take active roles in transportation operations, warehouse and inventory management, order and shipment processes, the use of logistics information systems, and customer service activities.
Through these practices, students gain firsthand experience of working life prior to graduation, observe the functioning of logistics processes in real working environments, and have the opportunity to apply their professional knowledge and skills. In this way, graduates are expected to become qualified logistics professionals who are adaptable to the sector, possess strong problem-solving skills, and have practical experience.

Graduates of the program may work in logistics companies, transportation firms, warehousing and distribution centers, foreign trade companies, manufacturing enterprises, e-commerce companies, port operations, and both public and private sector organizations operating in supply chain management.

In addition, graduates may continue their academic education by transferring to relevant bachelor’s degree programs through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS), such as Logistics Management, Aviation Management, International Trade, International Trade and Logistics, International Finance, International Finance and Banking, International Trade and Finance, Business Administration, and International Business Management.
The Logistics Program is a two-year associate degree program designed to educate qualified professionals who meet the workforce needs of enterprises operating in supply chain and logistics management. The program aims to equip students with the professional competencies required to ensure the efficient, effective, and sustainable execution of transportation, warehousing, inventory management, order management, distribution, and foreign trade operations.
In line with the development of global trade and ongoing digital transformation processes, the importance of logistics information systems, e-logistics applications, automation technologies, and data-driven decision-making has significantly increased. In this context, the program aims to educate students who can evaluate logistics processes from a holistic perspective, possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, effectively use sector-specific digital technologies, and perform their duties in accordance with professional ethical principles.
Throughout the two-year education period, students receive both theoretical and practical courses in areas such as logistics terminology, logistics management, supply chain management, transportation systems, warehouse and inventory management, logistics legislation, distribution channels and planning, customs regulations, freight and insurance, and logistics information systems. Internship and field-based training constitute an essential component of the program in order to enhance students’ professional practice skills.
In line with internationalization objectives, students are provided with opportunities to gain education and professional experience in different countries through Erasmus+ student mobility programs.
Graduates may work in logistics companies, transportation and cargo firms, warehousing and distribution centers, manufacturing and retail enterprises, e-commerce companies, port and customs operations, and supply chain management departments. In addition, graduates may transfer to undergraduate programs through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS), including Logistics Management, Aviation Management, International Trade, International Trade and Logistics, International Finance, International Finance and Banking, International Trade and Finance, Business Administration, and International Business Administration.

The Logistics Program at Istanbul Kültür University adopts the continuous improvement of educational quality and alignment with the evolving needs of the logistics sector as one of its core objectives. In this context, quality assurance processes are systematically implemented and based on a continuous improvement approach.
The program educational objectives, program outcomes, course learning outcomes, and curriculum are regularly reviewed in consideration of internal and external stakeholder feedback, student evaluations, alumni and employer assessments, as well as national qualification frameworks. The collected data are evaluated by the Program Quality Committee and the Department Board, and necessary improvement actions are planned and implemented accordingly.
Within the scope of quality assurance processes, student satisfaction, course achievement levels, internship evaluations, graduate feedback, and employer opinions are monitored and utilized to enhance educational activities. The Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) cycle is adopted as the fundamental framework for continuous improvement within the program.
The Logistics Program is currently continuing its preparation and application processes for accreditation conducted by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Vocational Education (MEDEK), with the aim of ensuring quality standards in vocational education and strengthening a sustainable quality culture.
