In cooperation with Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) E-Sports Club, Istanbul Bar Association Sports and Sports Law Commission, and Turkey E-Sport Federation, “E-Sports Summit” was organized in three sessions at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall, on October 19, 2022.
E-Sports Federation President Alper Afşın Özdemir, who made the opening speech of the summit, made statements to the participants about the functioning of the E-Sports Federation by making evaluations about the digital gaming sector in Türkiye. In the panel titled “Overview of E-Sports,” which was the second session, Barış Gürer gave information about the progress of the digital gaming sector by sharing basic information about the E-Sports ecosystem with the audience.
Our Vocational School Deputy Manager & E-Sports Club Consultant Lecturer Oğuzcan Akgöl, who spoke at the session titled “E-Sports and Communication,” stated that in a society based on interaction and speed, games have a significant place in terms of their structure. Lecturer Akgöl, who stated that the need to communicate in-game offers great opportunities for players to socialize, explained the relationship between the game and communication. In the same session, Assoc. Prof. Itır Tarı Cömert spoke about the importance of in-game psychology and shared with the audience that more detailed studies will be conducted on player psychology.
In the last session of the summit, speeches were made on the changing structure of the games and the legal system. After the completion of the speeches, the questions of the audience were answered. Esports Club President Emir Uygun presented a commemorative plate and a certificate of appreciation to the speakers at the end of the event.
