The İstanbul Kültür University Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program consists of 2 years. A program of theoretical, applied and elective courses awaits our students. The courses in the first and second semesters mainly consist of core and elective courses for professional competence. The courses in the third and fourth semesters consist of specialization courses in the fields of Medical Documentation and Secretarial work. The program also aims to equip students with experience in this field through workplace practices.
Our students will graduate from the program if they complete the workplace practices and courses within the framework of the principles and procedures determined by the Council of Higher Education and they will assume the title of "Medical Secretary".
In the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program of İstanbul Kültür University, area courses are given by expert faculty members, and the program students have the opportunity to closely follow all the processes via technical visits to medical institutions and organizations.
Our graduates will have the chance to graduate from a 4-year undergraduate program by obtaining the right to enroll in the appropriate undergraduate programs through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS), if the quota is opened in their fields, by taking advantage of the provisions of the regulations on continuation of undergraduate studies. The aim of İstanbul Kültür University’s Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program is to raise up a qualified intermediate workforce that collects data gathered by using the technology required by today's information communication age in health institutions and organizations.The goal of the two-year program is to educate personnel to work under the title "Medical Secretary" in public and private health institutions and organizations and to utilize them in the health sector.
Students who complete this program will be able to organize appointment services of patients in private and public institutions and organizations, carry out admission operations, inform patients about the functioning of the institution and medical services, keep records of the patients, carry out communication and correspondence services in administrative and medical units, archive patient files and other documents and reports with scientific methods, carry out classification and coding diseases-operations and health problems according to international classification systems, analyze data on medical statistics with scientific methods and give periodical reports about the results.
The Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program offers 50% and full scholarship options. In addition to ÖSYM Scholarships, there are various scholarships such as merit-based and need-based scholarships.

The primary aim of the İKÜ Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program is to raise up people who have the broad perspective required in the professional medical industry, who can follow developments and implement these developments in their subject area and follow the changes and fulfill their requirements.
The vision of this program, which trains medical secretaries who play an important role in document-information services in the multidisciplinary structure of health services, is to raise student standards and quality of education by following all innovations and developments in the field of medical documentation, thus raising the profession to the highest level.
