A draping exhibition with the theme of “There is a Human Hand in This Work” was held within the scope of “3T KULTUR DAYS” organized by Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School (MYO) Program of Fashion Design on May 25-26 at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center.
The project, which aims to draw attention to the negative effects caused by the reduction of natural resources, excessive consumption and fast fashion elements, was prepared by recycling 100% natural waste fiber. The project started with the breakdown of fabric waste collected from the sector as fibers in the ITU Textile Laboratory. As a result of making the materials suitable for felting with a 50% wool mixture by screening them in the felt workshop, the waste fiber, which was added to the design value, was re-used in different textures and surfaces. The presentation of the project, which was transformed into a design product with different applications by adding vegan fabric, was carried out by dressing in a transparent mannequin.
